The Delta State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged woman who allegedly sold his six-week-old baby for N200,000.
The Command spokesperson, Bright Edafe, in a video posted on X on Saturday, said the woman lied to the father of the child that the baby had died.
Edafe added that the woman proceeded to sell the baby to a couple with a lie that she was gang-raped by four men and got pregnant in the process.
Edafe wrote, “This was a female suspect we paraded at Ekpan, Delta State. She lied to her boyfriend and father of her six-week-old child that the child had died.
She then approached a couple and lied to them that she was ganged rape by four men and she got pregnant. She den sold the child for the sum of #200,000.”
Speaking in the video, the woman who identified herself as Tega, said she decided to sell the child because the father could not take care of the baby.
