Court Grants Accused Bail And Adjourns Till March 6th
The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday February 4th has dragged Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi to court, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed this on Tuesday.
Adejobi said, the Olorilere of Orile-Ifo has been charged on three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to disturb public peace.
The NPF PRO further said that the oba was granted bail and the case was adjourned till March 6th, 2025.
Adejobi noted, the police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession.
Oba Ogunjobi was seen in a viral video on social media space assaulting, causing a 73-year-old Baale, chief Areola Abraham.
Areola was seen in the video kneeling on the road while accusing him of conspiracy.
At one point, a man accompanying the traditional ruler slapped Areola and ordered to prostrate before the king.
The monarch, reportedly a retired police officer, also boasted of his influence over law enforcement agencies, threatening to jail the chief.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has slammed the monarch with six months suspension.
