Medical Doctor accused of stealing Baby at birth from Clinic – Its not true Doctor replies

A medical doctor, Dr Timothy Zeje of Divine Reign Clinic, Sauka, Abuja has been accused of stealing one of a set of twins delivered at his clinic.

However, Zeje denies the allegation.

Mrs Eunice Bright made the allegation on Thursday during a news conference in Abuja.

According to her, she registered for antenatal at the clinic and scans showed that she had a set of twins.

“I did my scan there at the hospital and Zeje told me that I was carrying a set of twins.

“This was confirmed the following month when I did the second scan,’’ she told newsmen.

“I wanted to take the result home to show to my husband but the doctor initially refused.

“I was able to convince him but he insisted that I should bring it back the following day which I did. I was later told that I would be delivered of the babies through Caesarean Section (CS).

“On June 11, 2022 I went to the hospital for the CS and it was successful,’’ she told newsmen.

She said she was surprised when one of the nurses collected one of the babies’ clothes and two shawls.

“ I asked why she wanted the materials and she told me that the second baby was sick.

“She said the baby would be put on life support therefore she needed it to cover the baby.

“After I regained consciousness from the CS I asked for my twins and my husband told me that it’s only one child that was handed over to him. I was shocked,’’ she said.

She said unfortunately, the baby that was handed over to her husband had difficulty in breathing so they were referred to Gwagwalada specialist hospital.

Bright said because of her condition, she could not accompany her husband to Gwagwalada.

“After my husband left with the baby for Gwagwalada I asked one of the nurses for my second baby and she told me that the baby died after birth.

“She said the doctor stopped them from telling me because I was yet to fully recover from the surgery,” she said.

According to her, things changed dramatically when she took one of the twins to hospital for immunisation only to see the doctor’s wife carrying a baby that looked exactly like her baby.

She said that she noticed that the baby also had dreadlocks like hers.
