A lagos based group, #Prayer and Support for the Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies, has strongly condemned the recent attack on a military base in Malam-Fatori, Borno State, by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP). The attack, which occurred on Sunday, resulted in the deaths of dozens of officers and injuries to others.

The group's convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi Fatile, expressed outrage over the attack and criticized political leaders who prioritize their selfish interests over the lives of military officers. She called on the Federal Government to urgently implement measures to guarantee the safety of officers on duty in the North East, particularly in Borno State.

"We strongly condemn the recent terrorist attack on a military base in Malam-Fatori, Borno State," Fatile said. "This senseless act of violence, which resulted in the loss of at least 20 brave Nigerian soldiers, is a stark reminder of the dangers our security agents face daily."

Fatile commended the bravery and resilience of military personnel who fought off the attackers and inflicted significant losses on the terrorists. She also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack and condoled with the families of the fallen soldiers.

The group urged Nigerians to rise up and demand justice, accountability, and an end to these senseless killings. They also called on the government to address the root causes of terrorism, including poverty, inequality, and corruption.

"We demand accountability from our leaders and call for an end to these senseless killings," Fatile said. "Let us stand together and demand a better future for Nigeria, where our security agents can serve without fear of attack, and our citizens can live without fear of terrorism."

The group commended the Nigerian military's commitment to defeating the terrorists and securing the region, and stood in solidarity with the security agencies.
