*Age Discrepancy Investigation Rocks Nigeria Police Force*

A recent investigation has brought to light a concerning issue within the Nigeria Police Force, where some high-ranking officers are alleged to have manipulated their dates of birth to extend their service years. The officers in question, holding senior positions such as Commissioners of Police (CPs) and Deputy Commissioners (DCPs), are suspected of bribing officials in the Force Headquarters' Secret Registry to alter their records.

When approached for comment, some officers denied any intentional wrongdoing, suggesting that discrepancies might be due to administrative errors or "typographical errors" in data compilation. One officer, a female CP, claimed she had no reason to falsify her age, despite being implicated in the investigation.

What's particularly noteworthy is that when this female officer was provided with evidence to clarify the allegations – two staff lists showing different dates of birth (1968 and 1970) – she became unresponsive. After receiving the proof via WhatsApp, she switched off her phone line and stopped responding to messages, raising questions about her involvement.

Ths investigation comes on the heels of the Force's announcement to try 151 senior officers over various disciplinary matters, some of which may be connected to this age falsification issue.

The Nigeria Police Force has a critical role in maintaining law and order, and it's essential that its officers uphold the highest standards of integrity. This investigation highlights the need for transparency and accountability within the force.
