*Ogun State Police Arrest Motorcyclist and Accomplice for Possession of Human Skulls*
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Kadir Owolabi, a motorcycle rider, and Jamiu Yisa, 53, for allegedly possessing three human skulls. The arrest was made on Monday, August 11, 2025, during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu, during a stop-and-search operation conducted by Mobile Police Officers from 71 PMF Awa Ijebu. A search of Kadir Owolabi's luggage led to the shocking discovery of three human skulls, prompting his immediate arrest. Preliminary investigations subsequently led to the arrest of Jamiu Yisa behind Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case for discreet investigations. CP Ogunlowo reiterated the commitment of the state Police Command to taking decisive action against crime and urged residents to cooperate with the law enforcement agency. He assured members of the public of trust, confidentiality, and identity protection, highlighting the importance of stop-and-search operations.
