The controversy trailing the alleged unruly act of obstructing safe operation of ValueJet aircraft leveled against popular fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde, aka KWAM 1, has drawn the ire of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
NCAA, smarting from the August 5, 2025, incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, has officially petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, calling for investigation into the unpleasant incident.
It would be recalled that the musician had a heated argument with the pilot and security agents over the content of a flask in his possession, leading to his prevention from boarding the flight en-route Lagos.
KWAM 1, in a trending viral video, was spotted protesting that action, by trying to prevent the aircraft from taxiing, which almost caused him his life.
Consequently, according to a statement issued by the Force spokesman (FPRO), DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of Airport Command to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances that led to the ugly incident, and ensure that justice is served accordingly.
The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws,” Adejobi stated.
