The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 14 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The arrests were made on April 8, 2025, in a sting operation at Ikot Akpanabia, Udoudoma, and Nwaniba areas.

- *Tablets*: 1 iPad
- *Laptops*: 3 units
- *Wristwatch*: 1 unit
- *Vehicle*: 1 black Toyota Camry car
Three of the suspects are University of Uyo undergraduates. The EFCC will charge them to court once investigations are complete. This recent operation follows previous EFCC successes in the area, including the arrest of 24 suspected trainee internet fraudsters in January 2024 and 13 suspected internet fraudsters in October 2024 .
