According to community sources, the attackers struck around 5:30 a.m., surrounding the mosque and whisking away the worshippers at gunpoint. While the abduction shocked residents, troops of Operation Fasin Yamma (OPFY) simultaneously foiled multiple terrorist attacks across Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara States.
- In Katsina, soldiers from 17 Brigade FOB Mabai ambushed terrorists near Gatakawa village, recovering a motorcycle and a mobile phone. In Danmusa, troops repelled an ambush on NSCDC personnel, though tragically one officer succumbed to gunshot wounds.
- In Kebbi, terrorists engaged troops in Ungushi village, Kebbe LGA, but were forced to flee. A civilian injured in the attack was evacuated to Kebbe General Hospital. In Augie LGA, terrorists stole a motorcycle in Tunga Dade before escaping.
- In Zamfara, 1 Brigade Team 7 patrolling near Mararaba Kyeware came under ambush near Kuka village. Two soldiers sustained injuries and were evacuated to Tsafe General Hospital before being moved to the 1 Brigade Medical Centre.
