AAAMCO Class of ’81 Holds Memorable 3-Day Reunion in Ilorin.

Story by Iyiola Ayomide

The 1981 graduating set of Abdull Aziz Atta Memorial College (AAAMCO), Okene, Kogi State, held a colourful three-day reunion in Ilorin, Kwara State, from September 5 to 7, 2025.

Themed One Life, Live It!

The event brought together old classmates from across Nigeria and abroad to celebrate 44 years of friendship, professional achievements, and shared values.

Founded nearly a century ago, AAAMCO has remained one of Northern Nigeria’s most respected schools. Named after the eminent statesman Abdul Aziz Atta, the college has produced notable alumni who have excelled in medicine, engineering, law, politics, business, and public service.

A Bond Beyond the Classroom

The Class of 1981 began their journey as fresh students on September 3, 1976. The reunion date of 5th September was deliberately chosen to align with the date 44 years ago. What began as youthful encounters has grown into brotherhood that has endured for almost five decades.

Members relived old routines, including morning exercises, played table tennis and had a cherished delicacy, bread and soup aka Anchupe a tuesday breakfast  delight.
