NEWS: IGP Disu Directs All Worship Centers to Install CCTV

Story by Dr. (Editor) Ohi Akpengbe

The Nigeria Police Force has stepped up surveillance and security operations nationwide as tensions from the Middle East crisis escalate, urging vigilance to prevent any spill‑over or attempts to exploit global unrest locally.
Acting Inspector‑General of Police Olatunji Disu instructed all Commissioners of Police in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to heighten intelligence‑gathering and patrols, particularly in the North West, North East, and North Central regions. The directive also calls for enhanced visibility policing around worship centres and public spaces and stronger collaboration with traditional and religious leaders to foster peace and deter opportunistic unrest.
The Force reiterated that Nigeria will not serve as a theatre for foreign conflicts, and warned that any attempt to import external ideological or religious tensions into the country will be met with the full weight of the law. Citizens are urged to remain calm, vigilant, and report suspicious activity to security agencies.
