The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the redeployment of senior police officers across various strategic offices. This comprehensive reshuffle is aimed at effectively repositioning the Nigeria Police Force to better carry out its duties.
The reshuffle includes the posting of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to different formations. Additionally, 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs) who are eligible for AIG ranks have been deployed to various offices, pending their official elevation by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The newly posted AIGs are: Margaret Ochalla (FCID Annex, Lagos), Abayomi Peter Oladipo (AIG Zone 13, Ukpo), Fred Ekokotu (AIG Zone 11, Osogbo), Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka (AIG Border Patrol Force, Abuja), Garba Ahmed (AIG Department of Training and Development, Abuja), Salman Dogo (AIG Zone 5, Benin), and Kanayo Uzuegbu (AIG Zone 9, Umuahia).
The 18 CPs who have been posted to various strategic offices as acting AIGs pending PSC approval are: Patrick Adedeji Atayero (Commandant, Police Academy, Kano), Tolani Alausa (AIG Zone 16, Yenagoa), Musibau Ajani (AIG Zone 17, Akure), Mobolaji Victor Olaiya (AIG DICT, Abuja), Laolu Adegbite (AIG Interpol, Abuja), Clement Robert (AIG Community Policing, Abuja), Gyongon Augustine Grimah (AIG Zone 10, Sokoto), and others.
The IGP has charged all the affected officers to embrace their new responsibilities with utmost dedication and to contribute to the ongoing police reform efforts, with the aim of enhancing security and improving service delivery nationwide.
