The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command Olohundare Jimoh Moshood has wielded the big stick by redeploying the Division Police Officer (DPO) of Elemoro Division over an alleged unprofessional conduct levelled against him in a media report.
Consequently, the Police Commissioner has set up a 5-man probe panel to investigate the alleged miscoduct against the DPO and other officers indicted in the report.
The panel of investigation, headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, which consists of senior officers, including the Officer in Charge of the Legal Department of the Command, is expected to investigate all the allegations in the media report and submit its findings withnin a week.
The Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin gave the hint on Monday in a release obtained by our correspondent.
According to the statement, CP Olohundare vowed to ensure that the appropriate disciplinary actions are served on the officers if found culpable of the allegations, just as he expressed the distaste of the Command for any form of inhuman treatment and miscarriage of justice.
CP Olohundare therefore, invited the lawyer concerned in the media report for a meeting with the investigation panel for his own side of the story.
He also implored members of the public to have trust in the Police and be assured that every wrongdoing proven against any officer will certainly be redressed.
It reads, ” Following allegations in the report against the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Elemoro in Online Vanguard Newspaper Publication of April 24, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has set up a 5-man committee of senior officers headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), including the OC Legal of the Command to investigate all the allegations in the report and submit findings within a week.
“Consequent upon this, the DPO and other officers involved have been transferred out of Elemoro Division to pave way for a thorough and unhindered investigation into the allegations in the report. The outcome of the investigation will certainly be made public.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby wishes to extend invitation to the lawyer concerned for a meeting at his own convenience with the committee set up to investigate the allegations.
“The Lagos State Police Command does not support any form of inhuman treatment or miscarriage of justice in any form and will make sure that if the officers involved are found wanting, in anyway, appropriate disciplinary measures are applied to serve as effective deterrent to others.
“The Commissioner of Police therefore implores the general members of the public to have trust in the Police and be assured that every wrongdoing proven against any officer will certainly be redressed.”
