*Two Adekunle Ajasin University Students Kidnapped and Murdered in Ondo State*
A devastating incident has rocked the Adekunle Ajasin University community as two students, 25-year-old Friday Abah and 19-year-old Eloho Okah, were kidnapped on June 20, 2025, and later brutally murdered in Ondo State.
According to the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, the students were abducted by a gang of armed robbers who later killed them to hide their crimes. The police investigation revealed that the mastermind behind the crime was Oladele Femi, the landlord of one of the victims, who allegedly conspired with Ojo Michael and another suspect, "Kola," who is still at large.
The police began their investigation after receiving complaints from the victims' families on June 24. Using phone tracking technology, they traced one of the student's phones to Lagos, where they arrested a 38-year-old man, Abdul Mohammed Mubarak. Mubarak admitted to buying the iPhone 14 Pro Max from Ojo Michael, who was later caught in Aramoko-Ekiti.
Michael confessed to being part of the crime and revealed that the plan was led by Oladele Femi. The criminals had planned to rob and extort the students, and during the time they held them hostage, they withdrew ₦800,000 from Abah's bank account.
Tragically, when Eloho Okah recognized Michael as someone she knew, the group decided to kill both victims to avoid being caught. Their bodies were dumped between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti. Okah's body has been found and is being examined by doctors. However, Abah's remains are yet to be found, though police believe he was dumped in a nearby river.
The students' Lexus RX 350 car, which was stolen during the incident, has been recovered by the police.
Commissioner Lawal has assured the public that all those involved will face justice. The police are working hard to capture the last suspect, "Kola," and bring closure to this devastating case.
This sad event has left the university community and many Nigerians in mourning, as questions continue to rise about safety and the growing threat of violence against young people.
