Lagos, August 5, 2025 – The Inspector-General of Police, I-GP Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed CP Rose Chollom Dung as new Commissioner, Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Lagos.
CP Dung, officially assumed duty on Monday at the unit as its 32nd Commissioner of Police.
The Unit’s spokesperson, DSP Ovie Ewhubare confirmed the resumption in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Ewhubare, her appointment follows the promotion of her predecessor, AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat.
He said on assumption, she met with management senior officers of the unit, where she expressed her gratitude to the I-GP for the confidence reposed in her and assured that the Unit would continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in line with the rule of law.
She further called on members of the general public and all stakeholders to sustain their support and cooperation with the Unit to ensure the effective delivery of its mandate.
CP Rose Chollom Dung, a native of Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the then Bendel State University Ekpoma (now Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma).
She was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on 18th May 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. Upon completing her training at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex, Kaduna, she was posted to Abia State Police Command where she began her police career and completed a one year mandatory attachment.
CP Dung has served the nation with dedication in various capacities across different commands and formations, including: Abia State Police Command, Police Special Fraud Unit and Divisional Police Officer, Agbara Division, Ogun State Police Command.
She also served as Commandant, Police Training School, Iperu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin), Ondo State Police Command and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Bauchi State Police Command.
Until her current posting, she was Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.
A highly trained and versatile officer, CP Rose Chollom Dung has attended several strategic courses, including: National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Strategic Leadership and Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, Training Operation of AFIX Tracker Automated Fingerprint and Palm-Print System and Sixth Regional Training on Money Laundering and Financial Crimes.
On her first day of parade on 04/08/25, she had a lecture with all the senior officers and was educating them.
She is a proud member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and, International Association of Women Police (IAWP).
