Breaking: CSP Benjamin Hundeyin Named New Force Public Relations Officer

Story by Iyiola Ayomide

In a major personnel reshuffle, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, the well-known Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). He succeeds DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command following his recent promotion.

Hundeyin, who has led public relations for Lagos State since March 2022, is expected to assume his new role at the Force Headquarters in Abuja soon after the administrative handover.

This change comes as part of routine administrative adjustments within the Force. The police hierarchy emphasized that the transfer is neither punitive nor controversial, but part of regular career progression and manpower optimization.

Background & Profile – CSP Benjamin Hundeyin
CSP Hundeyin boasts a robust communication and security background. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University, an M.Sc. in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, and professional training in Civil–Military Coordination from Jaji’s leadership institute.

Previously, he was appointed Lagos State Police PRO in March 2022, replacing DP PRO Ajisebutu, and has since served effectively as the voice of the Lagos command. His professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the International PR Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. Notably, he served in the UN–AU Mission in Darfur, further enhancing his international peacekeeping and public engagement credentials.

The transition places CSP Hundeyin at the national communications helm of the Nigerian Police Force.

His expertise in public relations and crisis communication is poised to enhance Force-level messaging and image.

DCP Adejobi’s promotion and redeployment underline the Force’s internal leadership progression.
