OPEN LETTER TO DCP ABBA KYARI

OPEN LETTER TO DCP ABBA KYARI

Story by Iyiola Ayomide

Sir, do you truly believe that a single allegation is enough reason to abandon the just fight you once committed yourself to?

Why have you allowed the judgment of a few — many of whom you have proven better than — to silence your voice and halt the divine duty you once carried with such passion?

On His way to redeem mankind, Jesus Himself stumbled not once, not twice, but thrice. Yet, He rose each time and pressed forward until He fulfilled His mission. If Christ, after falling three times, still rose to complete His assignment, why should you, after one fall, choose to stop? Is that fair?

How will you explain your silence to the millions who once drew courage and safety from your bravery? How will you explain your withdrawal to a nation broken, a people you once shielded with unwavering strength?

Kyari, your silence is not fair. Your stopping cannot be justified. Nigeria needs you now, more than ever before.

When I look at your face — once a symbol of assurance and protection — I can’t help but cry. Deep inside, I whisper: If Kyari were here, this wouldn’t be happening.

While I plead for your return, I continue in the struggle, holding on to the image of your face. If I never meet you again here on earth, I pray to recognize you in Heaven — at least to say *Thank You*.
